Christmas Critters

For my second card with my new Mama Elephant stamps, I used the adorable critters in the No Peeking set along with the snow from the Jolly and Merry set.  The sentiment is from the Believe in Magic set embossed in Ranger red embossing powder.  The dies are Pretty Pink Posh's Stitched Borders 1 and the Stitched Filmstrip die.

New Stamps!

I just got in my order from Mama Elephant and I was so excited to use them!

My first card uses the new Arctic Penguins and Jolly & Merry stamp sets.  I also used the frames from the Femme Frames die set.  I just love those penguins, they are so adorable!

Hospice Regatta Cards Part 3

For my next card I went pretty simple.  The bow image is from Papertrey Ink's No Strings Attached, stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts It's Your Day stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in white embossing powder.

Hospice Regatta Cards Part 2

For this card I watercolored the background in 3 colors.  While that was drying I stamped the typewriter image and sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Just My Type set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  Then I randomly arranged Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABCs letters on a stamp block in two rows and stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  I rearranged the letters and repeated the process for all of the rest of the rows for the background.  I used Lil Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Rectangles to cut out the image and sentiment and propped it up on the background with Scotch foam tape.

Cards for Hospice Regatta Auction

My Mom and I made cards for the annual Hospice Regatta Auction that they hold at her sailing club.

I used some of my Mom's mass of sailboat stamps for this card.  I white heat embossed a bunch of them on some shiny teal-ish cardstock.  I used Lil Inker Designs On the Diagonal Die to create room for the Wplus9 Thanks sentiment.  I added a couple of enamel dots for fun.

The last card I created by "recycling" some flowers from the practice sheets in the Online Car Classes Copics for Card Makers.  I cut out the panel using Mama Elephants Femme Frames Creative Cuts and Lil Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Circles. The bow is from Papertrey Ink's No Strings Attached and the sentiment from Clearly Besotted's Sweet Little Sentiments.  Both were stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Silver embossing powder.

W&W WCMD Part 2

I am continuing to participate in Winnie & Walter's World Card Making Day (Week).  This time I used the sketch from the Sketch with Julie Challenge.

WCMDsketch2014
I used Pretty Pink Posh's Stitched Borders to create the curved shape at the bottom of the card.  The images are from Mama Elephant's Carnival Cupcakes, which I simply adore.  I used glossy accents on the cherry and sprinkles, so cute!  I cut the circle out using Lil Inker Design's Stitched Mats: Circles.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts It's Your Day stamp set.  I finished the card off with some liquid pearls.

I thought I would also show off the huge mess I make every time I create something new.  Below is my 'craftie' for the Craftie Challenge!

W&W WCMD

I was at the Clemson football game versus NC State all day Saturday so I didn't have a lot of time to participate in World Card Making Day.  I was happy to see that Winnie & Walter was continuing their celebration all week.  I decided to participate in the Pattern Play with Shay Challenge.

I was excited to use my Argyle Backdrop stamp by Lawn Fawn.  I just love argyle.  I also used a tiny heart from Love You Tons by Lawn Fawn and the socks and sentiment are from Lawn Fawn's My Silly Valentine.  I went a little out of the lines when coloring the socks, so I used a trick I learned in OCC: Copics for Card Makers, a white uniball signo gel pen to correct it.  You can't even tell!

I hope you like it!

More Online Card Classes - Copics for Card Makers

Day 5 - Coloring Skin, Hair and Clothing

Day 8 - Using Practice Sheet Images

I really loved the way that Jennifer McGuire used the Clearly Besotted flower image and made it look like it was fussy cut all the way around, but actually wasn't.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Blissful Botanicals.  The border was created with a Cuttlebug embossing folder which I then inked with Versamark Ink and embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  I also embossed the edges of the matted panel, which you can't really see well on this view.

Day 9 - Backgrounds

I love the way Sandy Allnock created the clouds in the Backgrounds lesson.  I've never had much luck creating background with my Copics, but with Sandy's help I think the one below turned out pretty nice.

I used Lawn Fawn's Critters Down Under for the kangaroo and sentiment.  I used the balloons from the practice sheet.  I used Sandy's idea of using Copic Multiliners to make it appear like the kangaroo is holding the balloon strings.  I again used Jennifer McGuire's technique of using the same color Copics to create a matching mat.
