I decided to use the MFT Sketch Challenge 427 and Color Challenge 112 for inspiration. I wanted to use bunnies because it's close to Easter and I decided the big balloon in the sketch could easily work as a giant bubble with the BB Bubble over with Joy stamp set. I was inspired by an old Sandy Allnock Create in Color post and and old MFT How to Create a Bubble Design with distress ink. I used the color scheme from the current MFT Challenge. I hope you like it!

I was surprised at how well I was able to match the distress oxide ink blending for the giant bubble with the copic blending of the small bubbles. Other MFT products used: stitched circle die cut to mask the big bubble and stitched fishtail flag Stax for the sentiment strip.Heather Sudduthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06646482620472065826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661341489526914316.post-31322102647851793872019-02-08T09:48:00.002-08:002019-02-08T09:48:58.049-08:00Happy Valentine's Day

I've been enjoying my new Mae the Mouse set from Honey Bee Stamps. It's perfect for Valentine's Day cards. Below is one I made that I am going to send to my grandmother Lois with photos of my daughter. She doesn't do the internet well, so I send her physical photos every couple of months.

It came together surprisingly quickly for me, which is pretty rare. It normally takes me a while to develop an idea. I also finally got to use my Happy Hello stamp set, which I love, but hadn't used yet. Without further ado, here is my card:

For this card, I used the MFT Happy Hello stamp set, Hearts in a Row - Horizontal Die-namics, and Copic Markers. I stamped and colored on Copic Xpress-It paper and mounted onto MFT Red Hot cardstock.

I saw a fun pin on Pinterest that masks off some words and lets the kid color everywhere and when you remove the masks white words are left behind. I thought Ellie would have fun creating something like this and decided on a bookmark for her Daddy.

I used the My Favorite Things LLD Stitched Alphabet and Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1 tag die. There is some glitter brush on the heart too, but you can't really see that with the pictures.
This year I decided to make gift tags instead. At first, it was just going to be a simple My Favorite Things Happy Pawlidays tag to match the wrapping paper. Then, I decided I would color it to match the recipients dogs. Since she has two, I decided to make the tag reversible, with one pup on each side. Then I thought if I was going to make it reversible, it might as well be an ornament. Last, I just got the circle shaker pouches from MFT, so I decided to make it a shaker ornament too!

I am entering this tag into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Gift It.

Friday I looked through my My Favorite Things stamp sets to see if any ideas sprang to mind. When I ran across my Magical Dragons stamps I knew exactly what I wanted to create. I would use my Castle Die-namics to create a 3D Castle with a pop-up style box as my inspiration. It took two tries for me to get the size of the castle right. The first one was too tall and not wide enough to hold the 4 turrets I imagined.

After I got the size right, I used my MFT English Brick Wall stencil to add detail to the castle walls. I used the border die in the Castle Die-namics set to add some detail to the top edge of my castle. Then I cut out 16 of the bigger turret dies to create my 4 3D turrets. I cut the top off of half so that they would meet together easier. All of these got brick wall stencil detail as well. I used the window cutouts from these turrets to add windows to the main portion of the castle. I cut out castle doors in brown. I thought they should be wood doors.

I colored all the dragons, the knight, and the princess with Copics and fussy cut them to add to my castle. I used a strip of acetate to make the one dragon fly over the castle. I chose the sentiments, gold heat embossed, for a friend who was recently in the hospital. I know this card will make her smile. At the last minute I decide my castle should have some flags to finish it off.
All the Es in her name was a challenge. I had to go to the internet to get an eagle and an emu. I thought about doing all elephants, but thought that would be boring. I created the patterned paper with the Simon Says Stamp tiny alphabet backgrounds stamp. I bound everything together using We R Memory Keepers waterfall sleeves and photo sleeve fuse tool.
Ellie took a good nap this weekend and there weren't a thousand things to do around the house.

Below is my card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #324. I hope you like it!
Recently Power Poppy had a tutorial on creating a pop up box card and I decided to give it a chance. I needed to make a thank you for my mom for all the hard work she put in for my baby shower. (Which was February 28 - I'm kind of behind. I made a lot of other thank yous first.)
I wish I could use it on everything. When I saw the Monday Challenge from Simon Says Stamp I thought it would be perfect. To make it even more fun, I used my Copics to color a flower from Power Poppy's Azalea stamp set. I cut out the image with Lil Inker Designs Stitched Rectangles and matted with more shimmer paper! The sentiment, from Clearly Besotted's Sweet Little Sentiments, was heat embossed in Ranger liquid platinum.
Most had never even been used and were $5! I was so excited to find Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Arctic. I love that moose! So of course I needed to make a card with the moose. I stamped and reverse stamped the moose and then colored with my Copic markers. I added a hat to one moose and the sweet little heart. The sentiment is white heat embossed on a banner from Mama Elephant Basics creative cuts.
I got the new Miniature Florals stamp from Clearly Besotted recently and I have been just randomly coloring each image with my Copics. I decided to combine a few to create a card. I cut them out and attached them each to a cross stitched rectangle from My Favorite Things with foam tape. I white heat embossed the bow and sentiment.

I finally had time to do that yesterday, but completely forgot to post a picture. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Scripty Saying and I heat embossed it in white.
