Shaker Gift Tag

Since we send out photo Christmas cards now that we have Ellie, I don't make many cards at Christmas time anymore and it makes me a little sad.  This year I decided to make gift tags instead.  At first, it was just going to be a simple My Favorite Things Happy Pawlidays tag to match the wrapping paper.  Then, I decided I would color it to match the recipients dogs.  Since she has two, I decided to make the tag reversible, with one pup on each side.  Then I thought if I was going to make it reversible, it might as well be an ornament.  Last, I just got the circle shaker pouches from MFT, so I decided to make it a shaker ornament too!

I am entering this tag into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Gift It.

I did modify the MFT pup with the ornaments to have smaller ears to better match my friends dog.

And here is a look at it on the present:

And finally a video of the shaker aspect.

SSS Monday Challenge: Not a Card - Entry 2

I finally got the Lawn Fawn Shadow Box die and I wanted to make a shadow box for my niece's birthday.  I used the Lawn Fawn Let's Play stamp set.  This shadow box die is so awesome.  I can't wait to use it again!

I am entering this shadow box into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Not a Card.

SSS Monday Challenge: Not a Card - Entry 1

Recently I saw a pumpkin Diorama on the Lawn Fawn blog and I knew I had to make my own with the Simon Say Stamp/Lawn Fawn Stamptember Happy Howloween set from last year.  I have dachshunds and I love this set!  I used dachshund from the Happy Howlidays set as well.

I'm entering this challenge in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Not a Card.

MFT WCMD Challenge 2: Die-namic Designs

I really wanted to try to enter all the challenges, but I only had time for the first two.  I don't have many dies that can be used on their own, but I found the Lily dies and think it turned out pretty good.

Here's my card.

MFT WCMD Challenge 1: ROYGBIV

I managed to make a quick card on World Card Making Day.  I wish I had time for more, but we had a busy day.  The first challenge was ROYGBIV.  I enjoyed using all the colors.  I feel like the card needs something else, but I can't decide what, so it stayed how it is.

I used the distress patterns stamp set, Distress Oxide inks and the big hugs die.

MFT 2017 Card Design Superstar Challenge - Innovation Master

Friday I looked through my My Favorite Things stamp sets to see if any ideas sprang to mind.  When I ran across my Magical Dragons stamps I knew exactly what I wanted to create.  I would use my Castle Die-namics to create a 3D Castle with a pop-up style box as my inspiration.  It took two tries for me to get the size of the castle right.  The first one was too tall and not wide enough to hold the 4 turrets I imagined.

After I got the size right, I used my MFT English Brick Wall stencil to add detail to the castle walls.  I used the border die in the Castle Die-namics set to add some detail to the top edge of my castle.  Then I cut out 16 of the bigger turret dies to create my 4 3D turrets.  I cut the top off of half so that they would meet together easier.  All of these got brick wall stencil detail as well.  I used the window cutouts from these turrets to add windows to the main portion of the castle.  I cut out castle doors in brown.  I thought they should be wood doors.

I colored all the dragons, the knight, and the princess with Copics and fussy cut them to add to my castle.  I used a strip of acetate to make the one dragon fly over the castle.  I chose the sentiments, gold heat embossed, for a friend who was recently in the hospital.  I know this card will make her smile.  At the last minute I decide my castle should have some flags to finish it off.

Penny's 1st Birthday

I had seen people make flash cards in the past using all the cute critter stamps and I thought about doing that, but then I got the idea to make a little book for Penelope's birthday, with a critter for each letter in her name.  All the Es in her name was a challenge.  I had to go to the internet to get an eagle and an emu.  I thought about doing all elephants, but thought that would be boring.  I created the patterned paper with the Simon Says Stamp tiny alphabet backgrounds stamp.  I bound everything together using We R Memory Keepers waterfall sleeves and photo sleeve fuse tool.

I used the following stamps and dies:

Lawn Fawn:  Happy Happy Happy, Stitched Labels, Violet's ABCs, Elphie Selfie, Critters in the Artic, Winter Otter
Concord & 9th: Double Cut Alphabet
Simon Says Stamp: Tiny Alphabet Background, It's No Secret, Wild Cuddly Critters
My Favorite Things: Stitched Fishtail Sentiments Strips, Hog Heaven
Waffle Flower: Cutaway Alpha, Pawesome
Mama Elephant: Carnival Cupcakes

I'm entering my booklet into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!

Just for You

I rarely have time to create cards these days, let alone enough time to actually enter them into challenges, but this time it worked out well.  Ellie took a good nap this weekend and there weren't a thousand things to do around the house.

Below is my card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #324.  I hope you like it!

Supplies:  MFT Friends Furever, MFT Stitched Scallop Basic Edges, MFT Blueprints 29, Clearly Besotted Sweet Little Sentiments.
