MFT 2017 Card Design Superstar Challenge - Innovation Master

Friday I looked through my My Favorite Things stamp sets to see if any ideas sprang to mind.  When I ran across my Magical Dragons stamps I knew exactly what I wanted to create.  I would use my Castle Die-namics to create a 3D Castle with a pop-up style box as my inspiration.  It took two tries for me to get the size of the castle right.  The first one was too tall and not wide enough to hold the 4 turrets I imagined.

After I got the size right, I used my MFT English Brick Wall stencil to add detail to the castle walls.  I used the border die in the Castle Die-namics set to add some detail to the top edge of my castle.  Then I cut out 16 of the bigger turret dies to create my 4 3D turrets.  I cut the top off of half so that they would meet together easier.  All of these got brick wall stencil detail as well.  I used the window cutouts from these turrets to add windows to the main portion of the castle.  I cut out castle doors in brown.  I thought they should be wood doors.

I colored all the dragons, the knight, and the princess with Copics and fussy cut them to add to my castle.  I used a strip of acetate to make the one dragon fly over the castle.  I chose the sentiments, gold heat embossed, for a friend who was recently in the hospital.  I know this card will make her smile.  At the last minute I decide my castle should have some flags to finish it off.

Penny's 1st Birthday

I had seen people make flash cards in the past using all the cute critter stamps and I thought about doing that, but then I got the idea to make a little book for Penelope's birthday, with a critter for each letter in her name.  All the Es in her name was a challenge.  I had to go to the internet to get an eagle and an emu.  I thought about doing all elephants, but thought that would be boring.  I created the patterned paper with the Simon Says Stamp tiny alphabet backgrounds stamp.  I bound everything together using We R Memory Keepers waterfall sleeves and photo sleeve fuse tool.

I used the following stamps and dies:

Lawn Fawn:  Happy Happy Happy, Stitched Labels, Violet's ABCs, Elphie Selfie, Critters in the Artic, Winter Otter
Concord & 9th: Double Cut Alphabet
Simon Says Stamp: Tiny Alphabet Background, It's No Secret, Wild Cuddly Critters
My Favorite Things: Stitched Fishtail Sentiments Strips, Hog Heaven
Waffle Flower: Cutaway Alpha, Pawesome
Mama Elephant: Carnival Cupcakes

I'm entering my booklet into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!
